What you need
- A copy of your National ID or passport
- A passport-size colour photo
- The filled TIN application form
- For rental income or property tax: your land documents too
Steps
- Check you don't already have one: RRA has a "Search for TIN using National ID" tool.
- Go to an RRA office with your ID copy, photo and filled form.
- Submit the papers. RRA issues the TIN, free of charge.
Tips
- Individuals often need a TIN to own a vehicle, get a tax clearance certificate, or pay PAYE, rental income tax or property tax.
- Running a business? Register with RDB instead. Your company code becomes your TIN (see the business registration guide).
